01

Approach

We run a long-biased long/short equity strategy informed by global macro themes, making conviction-driven investments and adjusting as market dynamics shift. Macro insights on interest rates, currencies, and geopolitics serve as both a hedge and an enhancer for our stock positions.

A key pillar of our strategy is our belief in the power of management teams and first-person diligence. The central question in every investment is whether management can execute, and we engage directly with companies to answer it—buying their products, attending investor days, visiting local markets, and drawing on a network of analysts, experts, and industry veterans.

Our portfolios typically hold 20 to 25 of our best ideas across technology, healthcare, and select emerging markets. Each investment starts with a clearly defined thesis, grounded in a thorough research process. Ideas are vetted, sized within defined position, sector, and factor limits, and revisited through ongoing reviews. We use AI and data tools to support our research, monitor portfolio risk, and track the macro environment, while investment decisions remain grounded in fundamental judgment.

It was formalized in 2025, following a two-year record of strong returns relative to major equity benchmarks while managing personal and friends-and-family capital. The firm invests on behalf of a small number of partners—high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and foundations—and accepts new capital by introduction only.

The firm is founder-owned and 100% minority-owned, and is supported by an independent administrator, prime broker, and legal counsel, with monthly reporting to partners.

Founder

Manfred Collado

Founder and Managing Partner

Manfred Collado founded Acadia Ridge to invest without the short-term pressures that shape most public-market capital. He leads the firm's research, is responsible for every portfolio decision, and has invested the substantial majority of his liquid net worth in the fund on the same terms as the partners.

His edge as an investor comes from a diverse set of experiences. He has worked on a trading floor at Goldman Sachs, taught in a high-need school with Teach For America, launched global products for Amazon, and assessed investments for TRS of Illinois, one of the largest U.S. pension funds. At AlixPartners, he collaborated with leading GPs, hedge funds, and management teams during major transactions and crises.

Having been on the LP side, worked outside of finance, and managed teams beyond analysts, he brings a distinct perspective on leadership and execution.

The son of a single mother, he credits his background with instilling resilience and ambition. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a Robert Toigo Foundation Fellow.
